This week in Year 4, we have been learning all about the digestive system in Science. First, we labelled the different parts of the digestive system, including the mouth, oesophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine and rectum. We learned about the important jobs that each organ does to help our bodies break down food and absorb nutrients. To help us understand how the digestive system works, we used a model of the human body. We carefully took the model apart and examined the different organs. This helped us see where each organ is located and how they work together as food travels through the body. We also completed a human body puzzle. Working together, we assembled the different body parts and organs, helping us to identify where they belong. This was a fun and interactive way to reinforce our learning.
