This week, the children have been learning about different bodies of water, including ponds, rivers, lakes and oceans.
We began by exploring the pond in our garden, where we discussed the animals that live there. The children enjoyed learning about creatures such as frogs and fish before creating their own drawings of them on card.
Our learning continued as we explored underwater habitats and the amazing animals that live beneath the water. The children created lots of beautiful artwork inspired by underwater creatures, which is now proudly displayed around the nursery.
With the recent heatwave, we also talked about why water is so important. The children learnt that water not only helps to keep us hydrated but also helps to keep us cool on hot days.
As part of our discussions about water and weather, we explored how rain and sunshine can create rainbows. Have you spotted a rainbow recently?
