Every autumn term, our year six students visit the Imperial War Museum. This trip coincides with our history topic that we are learning in school.

Although The First and Second World Wars were horrific events for mankind, visiting this iconic museum gives a voice to the extraordinary experiences of ordinary people forced to live their lives during the harshest of times.

We saw exhibits that featured what life was like inside the trenches, viewed and compared the weapons and uniforms that were used in both world wars and saw models of the war planes flown by the RAF.

Visiting the Imperial War Museum can be a sombre experience but our students were engaged and enthusiastic when learning about two of the most impactful historic moments in all of humanity.
