This week the year six children were using baseboards, stanley knives and oil based-ink to create 3-D silhouettes from David Almond’s graphic novel The Savage.

They showed tremendous concentration to ensure their incisions were both precise and methodical. When completing this art project, our students knew that even a minor mistake could ruin their project; requiring them to complete all their tasks with the utmost patience. Although year six are always keen when learning new art techniques, I think they really appreciated and raised their game due to the added responsibility.
