Year 1 enjoyed a fantastic educational visit to Camley Street Natural Park as part of their Science learning. During the trip, the children explored a variety of natural habitats and took part in exciting hands-on activities designed to deepen their understanding of the world around them. Through pond dipping, the children discovered and identified a range of pond creatures, learning about the habitats and needs of living things. They also explored the park to observe different insects and minibeasts in their natural environments.
Throughout the visit, the children developed key scientific enquiry skills by asking questions, making observations, and discussing their findings with their peers and adults. They demonstrated excellent listening skills throughout the day, following instructions carefully, engaging thoughtfully in discussions, and representing the school beautifully with their respectful behaviour and positive attitudes. The experience encouraged curiosity, teamwork, and respect for nature, while also supporting the children’s understanding of biodiversity and the importance of caring for the environment. It was a wonderful opportunity for the children to bring their classroom learning to life through meaningful, real-world experiences.
