This week at nursery, we have been learning all about where milk comes from. The children discovered that milk does not come from the supermarket — it comes from cows on the farm!
We explored this in a practical and exciting way by trying to milk a pretend cow. The children had lots of fun using their hands to squeeze the “milk” and learning how farmers collect milk from cows.
We also learned about different farm animals, the foods they eat, and the names of their babies. The children enjoyed talking about calves, lambs, piglets, and chicks, and matching animals to the food they eat.
It has been a wonderful week full of hands-on learning, new vocabulary, and lots of curiosity about life on the farm.
