Nursery – We’re Going on a Bear Hunt!
In Nursery, we have been bringing our story We’re Going on a Bear Hunt to life through imaginative small world play!
We stepped into the roles of the characters, recreating their exciting journey through the swishy swashy grass, the deep cold river and the thick oozy mud! Using small world resources, we explored different parts of the story, retold familiar events and used our imaginations to act out the adventure.
As we played, we developed our communication and language skills by using familiar phrases, describing what was happening and sharing our ideas with one another. We practised sequencing events, explored new vocabulary and developed our confidence in storytelling.
Through purposeful play, we are developing our understanding of stories, building friendships and discovering how our imaginations can bring books to life!
