Year 2 continued learning about Pablo Piccaso and his art style Cubism this week.

This week we focussed on how Piccaso used colour to convey emotion. Using blue and dark colours to show sadness and misery, as well as lighter colours to show happiness.

The children had to sketch a face, using the ‘Roll a Picasso’ sheet to support their drawing of facial features.

Then they went over the lines in black and finally painted either side of the face, using colours which showed that one side was feeling unhappy and the other happy.

The Y2 children love Art and this activity was no exception. You can see the brilliant results below.
