This week, a professional chef from The Royal Academy of Culinary Arts visited year six so that we could learn where our food comes from and how to prepare a dish that it is both healthy and delicious. We learned that different ingredients are grown around the world and discovered new flavours that were derived from spices grown outside of the United Kingdom.
Our students discussed how certain ingredients such as avocados are grown in warmer climates and that certain vegetables are grown in the U.K. because of the milder weather conditions Great Britain. Most importantly, we learned that cooking is a lot of fun because we can tailor our dishes so they are aromatic, attractive and full of flavour.
