For this experiment, the year six children were asked to create their own investigation. They were split into groups of five so that they could develop their own controlled environment which would grow mould on a slice of bread. Through discussion and debate, each team decided where they should store their slices of bread, what ingredients could be added to promote the growth of micro-organisms and how certain variables would create more accurate data.
