During Debate Week, the children at our nursery explored the classic story of Little Red Riding Hood in a fun and interactive way. We focused on an important question: should Little Red Riding Hood speak to the wolf or not?
The children shared their ideas and chose sides, discussing whether they thought the wolf was kind or naughty. This encouraged them to think critically and express their opinions with confidence.
To bring the story to life, the children took part in role-play activities. They acted out the story and worked together to help Little Red Riding Hood make safe choices—deciding not to talk to the wolf.
Through this experience, we also introduced the concept of stranger danger, helping the children understand the importance of staying safe and not talking to strangers.
