The children in Year 2 have had a wonderful week, but World Book Day has to be the highlight.

“That was the best day ever!” claimed Salemvie as he was leaving on Thursday, donning a football outfit and clutching a homemade book ‘Salemvie the Footballer!’

The creativity this year was super! The enthusiasm for the day was really incredible and proved just how important World Book Day is and why we celebrate it.

Never have I ever… had such a brilliant music lesson on world Book Day. What an absolute joy.

Ms Pryce (another feline friend) had the children singing, dancing and writing music. The rhythm our Year 2’s can keep was proved with their energetic Mexican hat dance, but what really blew my socks off was their independent music notation. Great work Year 2.

Special Mention: Effua Gleed -author and poet visited us in the week and gave us a wonderful workshop. She did performance poetry with us and gave us a sneaky peak and read through of her new book, The princess and the Pee.  How lucky were we to get such a preview?! Her Ghanaian roots and culture inspire her writing and our children (and adults) left feeling very inspired. Thanks so much Effua!
