We have had a really busy week in Nursery.
We started the week with our focused story” The Three Little Pigs”. To re-enact the story, we’ve used our role-play area and the little house outside. This helped us write a story map where we drew all the characters from the story, including the Mummy Pig. Also, we really tried to help the pigs by building houses for them, using different materials.
Art and design
Among other artwork involving the story of the week, we also created some fireworks displays by using glue and glitter.
Understanding of the World
To help us learn the properties of materials and how to build a strong structure for the pig’s houses, we used sticks and marshmallows.We also found out where pumpkins come from as we found a pumpkin patch in our garden area.
We enjoyed lots of reading too, in our reading corner or our carpet area.
To end the week, we attended an African Dance Workshop where we did lots of rhythmic dancing modelled by a dance instructor.
