Year 4 Autumn Term
PE is Friday morning. Please be ready for your PE lessons, dressed in full PE kit.

Year 4 has an exciting Autumn term ahead, full of fascinating history, engaging stories and opportunities to explore the world around us.

In History, we will travel back to Victorian Britain, discovering what life was like during the reign of Queen Victoria. We will explore how the Industrial Revolution changed people’s lives and compare the experiences of Victorian children with those of children today.

In English, our learning will be inspired by Wolves and Leon and the Place Between. These rich and imaginative texts will help us develop our descriptive writing, vocabulary and confidence as readers and writers.

In Science, we will investigate how living things are classified. We will learn about vertebrates and invertebrates and use classification keys to identify and group different animals.

Our wider curriculum will also offer plenty of variety. In PE, children will develop their skills through football and basketball. In RE, we will explore Christianity and stories from the Old Testament. Computing will focus on developing children’s digital literacy, while in Music we will begin learning the recorder and develop our understanding of rhythm and performance.

It promises to be a busy and rewarding term, with plenty of opportunities for children to ask questions, make connections and grow in confidence as learners. Together, we are looking forward to a wonderful autumn term filled with curiosity, resilience and achievement.
