The Year 2’s impressed Hampstead Heath Educators this week by showing off their geography knowledge and skills. Not only were the Year 2s able to read maps and keys, they showed our friends at the park how they could use a map to find treasure!

We developed our map reading skills in a wonderful “Secret Garden” in Hampstead Heath. We hid treasure (like pirates we have read about) and gave our friends a map with multiple Xs marked on it so they could find it all. That was a lot of fun and the mud certainly added to the excitement.

The weather was kind to us, the fresh air was wonderful, the signs of spring were plentiful and best of all…(according to Year 2)… we ate our lunch in the education centre feeling rather pleased with ourselves.

We are very proud of our Year 2s  and what’s more, the staff at the education centre commented on just how “amazingly mature and well behaved” they all were. I couldn’t agree more. Well done pirates… I mean children.
