Year 2 had a fantastic time making our organic plum and apricot chutney, designing eye-catching labels and creating colourful posters and banners for our chutney sale at Whole Foods this week.

Some of our Year 2 children even had the opportunity to sell the chutney themselves and we were so impressed by their confidence, enthusiasm and brilliant sales skills. The chutney was absolutely delicious and our free samples disappeared in no time at all!

As part of our PSHE Young Leaders programme, the children decided that all proceeds from the sale would be donated to Camden Food Bank. This gave the project an even greater purpose, allowing the children to think about how they could make a positive difference to their local community while developing valuable enterprise, teamwork and communication skills.

A huge thank you to School Food Matters for making this project possible. From our visit to Organiclea Farm, where we harvested the fruit, to supporting us in creating and selling our chutney, this has been an unforgettable learning experience.

Thanks to the generosity of our local community, we are incredibly proud to have raised an amazing £162.79 for Camden Food Bank. Thank you to everyone who bought a jar, sampled our chutney or stopped by to support our wonderful Year 2 entrepreneurs!
