Reception has been learning about Sea Turtles this week as part of our new Unit of Learning, Recycling and the Environment.

As we learnt this week, unfortunately, Sea Turtles are one of the sea creatures most affected by litter and pollution!

This is partly because Sea Turtles love eating jellyfish, and unfortunately, sometimes plastic bags in the ocean resemble jellyfish.

Here are some of the facts we’ve learnt about sea turtles this week.

  • Sea Turtles hatch from eggs.
  • Sea Turtle eggs are buried in the sand.
  • Sea Turtles have to walk across the sand to get to the ocean and look out for predators!
  • Sea Turtles LOVE eating jellyfish.

As part of our learning about Sea Turtles, we decorated and created our own Sea Turtle collages.

Here is a picture showcasing some of our Sea Turtles – there are a lot to finish next week!
