This week, we said a very special goodbye to our butterflies after watching them grow and change right before our eyes. Over the past few weeks, we have carefully observed the incredible life cycle of a butterfly, beginning with tiny caterpillars that ate and grew each day before forming their chrysalises. We were fascinated as we patiently waited and watched for the final transformation to take place.

At last, beautiful black and orange butterflies emerged from their chrysalises and we were amazed to see how delicate and vibrant they were. We had the wonderful opportunity to gently hold the butterflies, observing their tiny movements up close and treating them with great care and kindness. Some of us even sang softly to them as they rested on our hands, making the experience feel even more magical and memorable.

Throughout this journey, we developed a much deeper understanding of the butterfly life cycle and learnt how living things grow and change over time. We spoke about how our butterflies have now flown away to lay more eggs on leaves so that the life cycle can continue all over again. It was such a meaningful experience that helped us to appreciate the beauty of nature and the importance of caring for living things.

We are so proud of how gentle, curious and thoughtful we have been during this learning journey and will always remember the excitement of watching our butterflies grow before finally setting them free.
