For the last two weeks in English, Year 5 have been looking at poetry. We have been reading, writing and performing a range of poetry types including kennings, haikus, tankas and onomatopoeic poems. This week we have been focussing on onomatopoeia, based on our Shakespeare play The Twelfth Night.  At the end of the play there is a wedding so first we thought about what types of sounds we would be able to hear at a wedding and then wrote own our ideas on large pieces of paper. Then we wrote our own poems based on our ideas. Finally, we performed our poems to the class.
