In Science, Year 5 have been learning about different types of change. This week we were learning about melting. We first described the properties of an ice cube. In pairs, we were given a cup of hot water with a lid and a piece of wax. We observed what happened to the wax when it was placed on the lid. We watched it melt and then solidify again and we knew it was a reversible change. Then we thought about other materials which would melt and then solidify again. The best one we used was chocolate!
