Year 5 had an exciting visit to the Camden Learning Centre, where we explored the world of coding and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

We began by learning how to code a chatbot using Scratch, developing our coding skills and discovering how computers can respond to questions and instructions. We then took a deeper dive into AI, exploring how it works and how it is trained.

During our session, we challenged some common misconceptions about AI. We discovered that AI is not necessarily smarter than humans and that it relies on the information and instructions people provide. We also discussed the dangers of AI and why it is important to use it safely and responsibly.

One of our biggest takeaways was the importance of using our HUMAN skills, such as creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving and empathy. Although AI can be a useful tool, these skills make us unique and help us make good decisions.
