This week the year six children competed the work on their D.T cars. After evaluating their designs and discussing their final modifications, each child was given the opportunity to observe how their car would perform in a whole class competition. Some children saw their cars travelling in a straight line due to accurate measurements when constructing their pulley system whilst others would see that the imbalance of weight affected the speed and fraction of the car’s wheel base.  Regardless of which team won or lost, every student involved enjoyed the chance to see their classmates’ cars move along the hall and cheer each other on as the cars sped across the track, spun out or crashed into the wall.
