This term, Year 5 have been exploring healthy and unhealthy friendships as part of our PSHE learning.

We have been thinking about what makes a good friend and discussing ways we can make everyone feel included, valued and welcome. We also talked about what we can do if we notice someone being picked on, left out or isolated, and how we can support others and speak up when something doesn’t feel right.

We worked in groups to create drama freeze frames showing different friendship situations. This gave us the opportunity to think about how people might feel in different situations and how we could make positive choices to help others.

It has been fantastic to see Year 5 showing empathy, sharing thoughtful ideas and developing their understanding of what it means to be a kind and supportive friend.
