Year 2 are back in full force and have done brilliantly settling back into the rhythm of school life.

There’s nothing quite like a good debate to get everyone thinking! This week in English, we explored the question: Should the wolf be blamed for his behaviour in Little Red Riding Hood?

The children wrote persuasive letters to Oxford Publishers, arguing passionately to clear the wolf’s name and protest his innocence. They then took on the role of the publishers, writing replies that declared just how unkind the wolf really is.

To finish, we held a lively courtroom debate in Fairy Tale Land, with our very own Kamar acting as judge. It was a very close decision, but in the end, the jury decided that the wolf was guilty of his crimes. Despite being a carnivore in his natural habitat, they agreed that he should never have behaved so meanly.

It was a fantastic debate, with excellent use of rich language throughout. Well done, Year 2!
