Year 1 had a fantastic time taking part in Debate Week, exploring the thought-provoking question: Who is to blame? Was the wolf unfairly blamed, or was it Little Red Riding Hood’s fault?

The children were fully engaged and demonstrated excellent focus and determination throughout the week. They showed great enthusiasm as they explored both sides of the argument, developing their ability to think critically and consider different viewpoints.

It was wonderful to see the children speaking so confidently and articulately, using clear reasoning to justify their ideas. They listened carefully to one another, building on others’ contributions and showing respect for different opinions.

This experience provided a valuable opportunity to develop key communication and oracy skills, as well as encouraging independence, resilience, and curiosity. We were incredibly proud of how thoughtfully the children approached the debate and how beautifully they expressed themselves.
