This week year six began their mindfulness training. Throughout the session, they learned a couple of techniques that could help them remain more focused and engaged in class. Completing the ‘puppy training’ stage was their first task. This activity taught them how to focus on the present moment, improve their self-awareness and teach them certain breathing techniques that could help them regulate their anxieties.
“One of our challenges was to sit in our chair for an extended period and attempt to identify any of our feelings from our toes, feet, legs, arms, back and neck – this was very relaxing.” Layla – Y6
