Our Unit of Learning this term is the UK. We have started the topic by learning about counties, what they are and locating as many as we could. We then spent a lesson looking at the differences between the different countries of the UK, using ordnance survey maps on Digi Maps. We then narrowed down our search by comparing two different places in the UK of our choice and looking at some of the different physical features and human features. We learnt the distinction between human and physical geography. We have been very lucky as we have also had a brilliant student from CSM run a two week art workshop with us, on the topic of maps. This linked perfectly to our learning.
