ear 1 had a fantastic time celebrating World Book Day! The children came into school in the most amazing costumes and were so excited to share the stories behind the characters they had chosen. It was lovely to see them confidently talking about their books and listening so respectfully while their friends shared theirs.
Throughout the day, the class showed how cooperative and thoughtful they can be – they were brilliant listeners and supported one another beautifully during discussions and activities.
We enjoyed a range of book-themed activities, including reading Funnybones together and exploring the characters and settings. The children then created their own page inspired by the story, using their imaginations to think carefully about who their characters were and where their story was set.
A real highlight was visiting the Book Hut, where each child chose a book to take home. They showed such appreciation and excitement, and we hope they enjoy sharing their new stories with you.
Well done, Year 1, for such a joyful and book-filled day!
