This week, year six were learning how certain birds had to adapt when living in the Galapagos Islands. They read an extract from a text written by Charles Darwin that describes his theory of evolution so that they understood why animals have certain features that help them survive.
After they read this extract, year six discussed the observations of Darwin’s finches and were able to apply these ideas to explain how the theory of natural selection is related to the theory of evolution during their independent writing.
