This week, our students were learning how to use a protractor so that they could draw, estimate and measure angles. They learned that the baseline represents the line on the protractor with a value of zero and how to use right angles to help them identify obtuse, acute and reflex angles.
“A protractor is important to use because it gives you the opportunity to learn how to built all of the things that we see around us. If we did not know how to measure angles correctly then our bridges, roads, buildings, even windows would fall to the ground.” Kooshin Year 6
