Today was our Year 4 Sports Day and it was awesome! The sun was shining, everyone was excited, and we were ready to give it our best on the field. We started the morning with a warm-up, stretching our arms, legs and doing some jogging on the spot. It got our hearts beating faster and our bodies ready to go!
Our first activity was the bean bag toss. We had to aim carefully and throw the bean bags into hoops. Some of us even managed to get them all in – it was harder than it looked! Next was the basketball throw. We stood behind a line and tried to get the basketballs into the hoop. Some amazing shots went in – it felt like we were in the Olympics! Then came the hopping and skipping races. Everyone looked so funny bouncing along the track. It was hard not to fall over, but we kept smiling and cheering each other on. After that, we raced across the climbing frame. We had to go over, under and through – it was like a mini obstacle course. It really tested our balance and strength. Finally, we played an exciting game of dodgeball. We ran, ducked, and threw the balls to try and dodge getting out. It was fast, fun and super competitive!
The morning was full of laughter, energy, and lots of teamwork. We couldn’t wait for lunch and the afternoon activities!
A MASSIVE congratulations to St George’s Team for winning this year.
