This week in Reception, we have been exploring how numbers can be represented in a variety of ways. We have been forming numerals carefully, building quantities, creating number pictures and representing our learning both indoors and outdoors. We have explored numbers through construction, mark-making and creative materials, thinking about how a number can look different depending on how it is shown. We have been making connections between numerals and amounts and beginning to explain our thinking as we work. Through playful exploration, we are developing a deeper understanding of number and building strong foundations for our future mathematical learning. We have thoroughly enjoyed discovering just how many exciting ways we can show our maths!
