What a wonderful week in Year One. This week, we continued our journey of understanding animals in danger. We took that concept and focussed on observational drawings.

First, we warmed up with a 5-minute one-line drawing. It’s a lot harder than it looks, but at Saint Mary and Saint Pancras, we are resilient!

After that, we then challenged ourselves by drawing using our opposite hands. The outcomes of our butterflies were wonderful. We were ASTONISHED!

Next, we used charcoal to draw elephants. We carefully created lines and smudged the charcoal to create shades.

Later on, we began layering a variety of media. We used watercolours to create a background and next week, we will use pastels to draw a turtle.
