This week the children have had a super week of learning! Our focus has been weight, and we have been exploring heavy and light objects through lots of fun, hands-on activities.
Our focus story this week has been Supertato. We discovered that Evil Pea has been very mischievous and has been sneaking into our classroom! He has been causing problems and getting our toys into a muddle.
The children decided the only way to help was to become superheroes and work together to fix the problems Evil Pea had made.
Maths – Learning About Weight
We explored weight by:
Lifting and comparing different objects
Talking about heavy and light
Using balance scales to see which objects were heavier or lighter
Making predictions and checking our ideas
The children used lots of great language such as heavy, light, heavier and lighter.
Role Play and Communication
In our superhero role play:
The children worked together to solve problems
They shared ideas and talked about how to fix the classroom
They used their imaginations to defeat Evil Pea and save the day
