This week, we have been focusing on creating simple sentences as part of our early writing journey. Oracy has played an important role in our learning, and we spent lots of time saying and chanting our sentences aloud. This helped us to organise our ideas and practise holding a whole sentence in our heads — a skill that can be tricky but is essential for writing.
We worked together to rehearse our sentences before writing them down, building confidence and supporting one another. We also learned how to use our learning environment effectively, finding tricky words, identifying digraphs and remembering to use capital letters to support our writing.
Through these shared experiences, we are becoming more confident writers, developing independence and pride in our work as our sentence-writing skills continue to grow.
