This term, our nursery children have been busy exploring the wonderful world of plants! Through hands-on activities and careful observation, the children have been learning all about how plants grow and what they need to stay healthy.

We began by planting our very own beanstalks. The children were excited to take part in each step, from filling pots with soil to planting the seeds and watering them. As the days passed, we observed the changes closely. The children talked about what plants need to grow, such as water, sunlight, air, and care.

As part of our learning, we explored the different parts of a plant, including the roots, stem, leaves, and flowers. The children enjoyed identifying these parts on real plants and in pictures.

We also introduced simple measuring and comparison language. The children described their plants using words like tall, short, taller, and tallest. It was wonderful to hear them using this vocabulary confidently as they compared the growth of their beanstalks with their friends.

Observing our beanstalks over time has helped the children develop patience and curiosity. They have loved checking on their plants daily and noticing even the smallest changes.

Stay and Play Session with Camden Kids Talk
We were delighted to welcome Camden Kids Talk for a special Stay and Play session with our families. This session focused on the importance of nursery rhymes in supporting children’s language and communication development.

Nursery rhymes play a key role in helping children develop listening skills, memory, rhythm, and early language. During the session, parents joined their children in a variety of fun and engaging activities based on well-loved nursery rhymes.

One of the highlights was a creative activity where children designed and decorated fabric bags by drawing their favourite characters from their favourite nursery rhymes. The children were very proud to take their personalised bags home!

We would like to say a big thank you to all the parents who joined us. Your involvement makes a huge difference in your child’s learning and development, and it was lovely to see everyone learning and having fun together.
