The Year 2 children have been having great fun learning geography this half term! They’ve explored human and physical features and have loved learning about the continents and oceans of the world.

One of their favourite activities has been singing along to continent and ocean songs on YouTube; pointing to the named places on maps and globes and joining in with the actions.

This week, the children have been learning about climate zones. They discovered that countries near the equator receive the most direct sunlight which helps explain why different places have different climates.

Why not test their knowledge at home? Ask them to name the continents and oceans or challenge them to spot human and physical features. They love showing what they know; so go on, give it a go!
