Year 2 have thoroughly enjoyed researching, designing, making and evaluating igloos in DT this half term. The project was inspired by our class story, where a princess became stranded in a snowstorm and needed shelter. Thanks to the creativity and hard work of Year 2, she now has plenty of wonderful options to choose from!

The children showed fantastic problem-solving skills and imagination throughout. Some igloos even featured windows, chimneys, cosy rugs, fires…and, most impressively, a few included internet satellite Wi-Fi connections!

To celebrate their work, the whole class presented their projects in a brilliant DT assembly. We learned so much about each other’s ideas and designs. It has been a fun, creative and inspiring project for everyone involved.
