Today in Year 4, we explored the British Values, focusing especially on Individual Liberty. We learned that this means having the freedom to make our own choices and express who we are, while respecting others. To help us understand this value, we created our own family crests—a fun and creative way to celebrate our identities. Each crest was unique, filled with symbols, colours, and images that represent our families, interests, and dreams. As we designed them, we thought carefully about what makes us special and how we want to be remembered for generations to come. It was a fantastic way to express ourselves and understand that everyone’s story matters. Through this activity, we discovered how individual liberty allows us to be proud of who we are, while also recognising and respecting the differences in others. We left the lesson feeling inspired and proud of our unique family histories.
