Year 1 had an exciting and enriching educational visit to Tower Bridge as part of their History and Geography learning. The trip brought their classroom topics to life in the most memorable way!
The children took part in an interactive workshop all about jumping buses, discovering the fascinating mechanics of how and why the bridge opens to let boats pass underneath. Their curiosity was sparked as they learned about this famous London landmark’s unique design and purpose.
Guided by knowledgeable staff, the pupils toured the inside of the bridge, where they explored its incredible structure and engineering up close. A highlight for many was walking boldly across the high glass floor. The children were truly amazed by the view of the River Thames far below, gasping in wonder at the height and the size of the bridge itself.
Throughout the day, Year 1 confidently identified key London landmarks and deepened their understanding of the capital’s geography and historical importance. The children were enthusiastic, engaged, and full of thoughtful questions. Well done Year One!
