Today, we learnt all about humans. Did you know that humans are mammals? We have five senses and today, we got to explore them all!
First, we collaboratively labelled the human body – we knew so many more parts of the human body than we thought.
After that, we went on a senses walk, focussing on what we could see, hear and smell. Our senses were overloaded! We observed by taking notice, closing our eyes and really listening into what we could hear. There wasn’t much to smell this afternoon, apart from “fresh air” and “yummy bread” – what great use of adjectives.
Later, we went back into our classroom and used our sense, taste. We sampled five foods to understand the basic tastes. Some were sharp, salty, sweet, savoury and sour! We then sorted the foods into groups of basic tastes.
Finally, we recorded our findings through reflection.
Next, we are going to begin our journey to understand the different types of animals.
