Our nursery class had an exciting and unforgettable day this week as we welcomed a special Science Workshop into school!
The children were thrilled to take part in a hands-on learning experience where they met some amazing animals up close. The workshop introduced them to a snake, a leopard gecko, rabbits, and even a turtle!
The session began with a friendly introduction to each animal, where the children learned fun facts about their habitats, diets, and how they live.
The highlight of the day was the chance to safely interact with the animals. With gentle guidance, the children were able to:
Carefully stroke the snake and feel its smooth scales
Observe the tiny details of the leopard gecko
Gently pet the soft rabbits
Watch the turtle slowly explore
This wonderful experience helped the children build confidence, develop respect for living things, and spark their curiosity about the natural world.
We are so proud of how brave, gentle, and enthusiastic everyone was during the workshop!
When we returned to our classroom, they carefully sketched the snake, leopard gecko, rabbits, and turtle, remembering the colours, patterns, and shapes they had observed during the workshop. It was wonderful to see their creativity and how much they had learned from the experience.
