Attention: PE is now on Wednesdays.

Year 2 is gearing up for an exciting summer term! We kick off with Debate Week, then in History we explore the Crimean conflict and celebrate women who transformed nursing. In English, we start with a non-fiction book about Florence Nightingale, giggle through Diary of a Killer Cat, and finish with Shakespeare’s Midsummer Night’s Dream and all the crazy antics that come with it!

In Science, we’ll learn about the lifecycles of animals. In Art, we’ll create Japanese-inspired headdresses, and in DT, craft Victorian toys and whip up delicious chutney. RE takes us on a journey through the Five Pillars of Islam.

Parents and Carers, please take some time at home to talk about telling the time to the nearest five minutes and fractions. You could, for example, cut food into halves and quarters or explore numbers in halves and quarters—making learning fun and practical!

It’s a summer term full of discovery, creativity and fun!
