Welcome to Reception!

This half term in Reception, children will be engaging in rich learning opportunities through our Unit of Learning: Where We Live and Food. Our newly refreshed classrooms provide purposeful spaces where children can become increasingly independent and take ownership of their learning through Continuous Provision.

We have a strong focus on early foundations: Phonics, Early Maths, and the promotion of handwriting through targeted fine motor activities and interventions. High-quality texts – The King’s Pants, The King’s Hats, and The Tiger Who Came to Tea – will provide a stimulus for developing imagination, language, and early writing skills.

In Religious Education, we are introducing Understanding Christianity, beginning with the key question: “Who made our wonderful world?”

We are looking forward to an exciting half term full of learning, exploring and new adventures together.
