Welcome to Nursery!
This term is a very special one, as we begin our nursery journey together. Our first focus will be on settling into school life by learning the routines and expectations that help us feel happy, safe, and confident in our new environment.
Our units of learning will include “Me and My Family” and Nursery Rhymes. We will enjoy wonderful stories such as Owl Babies, We’re Going on a Bear Hunt, Elmer, and many more, which will spark our imagination and support our love of reading.
In Maths, we will be developing early number skills, including subitising, counting, and recognising numbers 1–5. In Religious Education, our theme will be “Who am I?”, where we will explore our sense of self and belonging.
Each week, the children will also attend Music lessons with our music teacher, as well as take part in Phonics sessions using the Little Wandle programme, with a focus on Nursery Rhymes.
