This week, Year 3 have started planning an exciting Design and Technology project. We are designing and making our own shadow puppet theatres, before creating and performing a short show inspired by our rainforest topic.
The children began by exploring how shadows are formed and discussing which materials would create the clearest silhouettes. They then worked collaboratively to develop their design ideas, thinking carefully about structure, strength and how their theatre will stand securely.
Over the coming weeks, pupils will design and make moving shadow puppets, decorate their theatres with rainforest scenes and rehearse a short performance for an audience. We are looking forward to seeing their creativity shine as their ideas come to life.
