In Year 3 we have really enjoyed reading The Tin Forest and learning all about the character of the old man who lives in the tiny house with tiny windows. We thought it would be a lovely idea if one day, the children could be granted special magical powers and grant the old man his wish of creating a tropical jungle compared to his usual grey, dark atmosphere. The children collected items from the outdoors to create their potions in groups of three. They then created their own potion labels identifying what the potion will do for the old man. The children had some fantastic ideas. Some children granted the man a new home, a tropical jungle and a star that gleamed in the sky and whenever the old man looked at the star his wish would come true. What a brilliant year morning Year 3!
