This week, Year 2 enjoyed their very first Music lesson of the year, and what a fantastic start it was! The children explored the different ways they can use their voices, practising singing at different pitches and volumes while thinking carefully about how expression can help to bring music to life.
The children also continued developing their understanding of musical notation. They practised reading simple rhythms and worked together to clap them accurately before having a go at playing them using instruments. It was lovely to see the children listening carefully, keeping a steady beat and working hard to play the correct rhythm.
Everyone joined in with great enthusiasm and confidence, making it a really enjoyable first Music lesson. We are looking forward to continuing to develop our musical skills and discovering even more ways to make and enjoy music together throughout the year!
