Our Nursery children have been busy taking part in an exciting Design and Technology (DT) project all about making boats.
First, we talked about different types of boats and the materials they can be made from. The children carefully drew their own boat designs, sharing their ideas and thinking about what would help their boats float.
Next, they brought their designs to life by building their own boats using a variety of materials. The children showed fantastic creativity, teamwork and problem-solving skills throughout the process.
Finally, it was time to test our boats! We placed them in water to see how well they floated and to discover which materials were the most suitable for making a strong, floating boat. The children enjoyed making predictions, observing the results and talking about why some boats floated better than others.
It was a wonderful hands-on learning experience that encouraged creativity, investigation and early scientific thinking. Well done, Nursery!
