This term Year 5 will be starting our Shakespeare Project and rehearsing and working towards our final performance. In English we will be looking at the Shakespeare’s Hamlet as well as two new books this term, ‘The Highwayman’ and ‘Coraline’ and we will be improving our writing by examining a range of different text types, including narrative, non-chronological reports and persuasive letters. Our Unit of Learning this half term will be continuing to learn about Viking and Anglo-Saxon life in History whilst also designing and sewing a Viking item of clothing in Design Technology. We will be working with negative numbers in maths, counting across zero as well as ordering and comparing negative numbers. In Science, we will be looking at the Life Cycles of Living Things including humans, animals, insects and plants. We also have a lot of exciting trips coming up this term as well!
